Police have detained an alleged road bully who is believed to have threatened three road users using a metal object as a weapon.
Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad said the 34-year-old suspect had allegedly threatened the victims during an incident at the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) highway last Sunday (Dec 10).
He said the initial investigation revealed that the incident occurred when the suspect allegedly drove his car in a dangerous manner, by driving too closely to the victims’ vehicle at around 8.30am.
“When the victims stopped their vehicle by the side of the road, the suspect threatened them with the metal (object),” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 12).
ACP Mohd Taib said following that, the Johor Baru North and Kluang District Police Headquarters arrested the suspect at a hotel in Kluang on Tuesday (Dec 12) at around 12am. Police also seized a fake pistol, 3.19g of heroin and 9.95g of syabu during the arrest,” he said, adding a local man and a Vietnamese woman were also detained during the raid.
ACP Mohd Taib said the case was being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, and that the Kluang District Police Headquarters would investigate the drug matter.
“Checks revealed that the suspect had previous criminal records including drug offences,” he said.
