Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman had wanted to test the state's newly acquired RM3 million amphibious bus. However, the bus became stranded as it was crossing the Terengganu river yesterday.
Images of the stranded bus with rescue personnel approaching the vehicle have gone viral on social media. Razif confirmed that he was behind the wheel when the incident occurred.
"While I was driving the bus, it's water jet propulsion hose came loose and was disconnected... Alhamdulillah (Thank God) the rescue team managed to control the situation.
“Perhaps, it happened because I had no experience handling the bus, so we have to make sure the bus is manned by an expert,” he was quoted as saying.
