Three men have been detained in connection with the attack on a highway traffic supervisor which went viral on social media.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob said the incident occurred at 4.39pm on Thursday when the victim ordered the first suspect to move his vehicle.
The vehicle was at that time parked at the entrance of a highway project site in Jalan Alam Damai, Cheras.
He said this individual got upset and there was an argument before he called the second suspect for help.
The second suspect punched the supervisor in the face while the first suspect took out a samurai sword and slashed the victim on his back.
“The victim was rushed to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for treatment,” he said.
DCP Zainuddin said police managed to track down the suspects and arrested them along with a third individual. They are between 23 and 25 years old.
“We seized the sword used in the attack,” he said.
DCP Zainuddin advised the public not to speculate on the incident and urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Insp Muhammad Shahriman Othman at 017-652 8746 or Deputy Supt Zolkifli Mohd Yasin at 019-258 0008.
