FWD Takaful Bhd launched its new online channel offering FWD Protect Direct, Malaysia’s first Takaful protection plan that can be accessed online, covering up to four family members under one certificate with automatic underwriting.
Marking the first phase of FWD Takaful’s digital distribution model, the channel allows customers to obtain Takaful protection online and receive immediate coverage.
“We want to make a positive difference to people’s lives today with our new Takaful protection product. Our easy-to-use online channel is simple, reliable and direct, which enables customers to manage their Takaful certificates at their own convenience,” said FWD Takaful’s CEO Salim Majid Zain.
FWD Protect Direct has a unique single-certificate plan with four plan options: individual, couple, family (up to two children) and single parent (up to two children). A single-certificate plan saves customers the hassle of having to participate and manage multiple Takaful certificates.
Available for as low as RM0.40 per day for an individual plan and RM1.20 per day for a family plan, the contribution is level throughout the term of the certificate, so customers do not have to manage increasing contributions as they grow older.
FWD Protect Direct also provides a waiver of future contributions should the certificate owner pass on, ensuring continuous protection for the rest of the family. Similar to other FWD Takaful offerings, FWD Protect Direct will only have three exclusions; whereby the death benefit will be paid out unless death happens due to suicide within the first year, unlawful acts and war.
The online purchasing experience incorporates an intelligent underwriting system. Customers can instantly get quotes and check for eligibility through its dynamic application questions, reflexive questioning and predictive underwriting.
In addition, FWD Takaful is collaborating with digital health technology company Walnut Wellness to launch FWD Hero Sihat. This health engagement tool provides users free consultation on health and wellness through WhatsApp.
“Walnut Wellness aims to empower Malaysians to take responsibility for their health with the application of technology, ultimately preventing them from diet and lifestyle related diseases,” said CEO Khor Xin Yun.
