Travel Insurance Exclude Terrorist Attack

Do you seek travel insurance cover against terrorism?The world has been rocked by a series of horrifying terror attacks recently.
 
Once popular holiday resorts, such as Sharm El Sheik in Egypt, have become near ghost towns and Brussels Airport was forced to close following terror atrocities last month, only partially re-opening 12 days later.
 
With many Brits now questioning where is safe to travel and fearing what to do if they found themselves stranded following an attack, there’s been even more of a push for terror specific travel insurance.
 
According to insurance firm Bought By Many, some insurers say they offer cover when disaster - such as natural disasters and riots - strike, but most exclude terrorism from this list.
Bought By Many have found that a growing number of people are seeking terror specific insurance cover.
 
In the year 2013, Bought By Many reports that there were only 5,354 internet searches for insurance containing “terror” or “terrorism” (eg “travel insurance with terrorism cover”).
 
By the year 2015, this figure had grown to 20,474. A staggering 382 per cent increase. 
 
Further research by Bought By Many found that 41 per cent of Brits would consider taking out a travel insurance policy that included some element of terrorism cover.

Bought By Many point out that many holidaymakers will take out travel insurance but won’t check the small print to see if their policy covers terrorism or their plans being disrupted by it.
 
For those traveling to high risk or unstable countries for business, charity work or adventure tourism there ARE specialist policies with terrorism cover included and benefits that are not available from mainstream travel insurance. 
 
Providers such as Battlefield, International SOS, Warzone Cover and Bellwood Prestbury all provide cover for travel to high-risk countries.
