“Not having enough money” is what most Malaysians state as the main
reason for not buying insurance for themselves and their families. Most of the people I approached said they have budget issues. Some
of them also prefer to spend their money on other things including
entertainment,” Takaful Ikhlas Bhd’s agent Razihan Che Daud told Sunbiz
at a meet-the-press session with Takaful Ikhlas’ best selling agents
here yesterday.
“Albeit receiving many rejections, we were taught to be patient and
work hard to achieve our goals,” she said, adding she has made over
RM100,000 sales in the 2015/2016 financial year.
Razihan, who is from Subang Jaya-based financial consultancy, Darul
Asiah Consultant Sdn Bhd, said most of her potential clients are also
only aware of medical insurance protection, while neglecting other
insurance products.
“Most of them think that they are fully protected when they already
have a medical card. In fact, they should have income protection as
well.
“Whereas, they should review the policy on what they should take and
what not. At least, when we do the review, we will know that there is
not enough protection for them or their family,” she added.
Meanwhile, Takaful Ikhlas’ agency, Ikhlas Consultant and Services
group agency manager Samian Senin said most people delay the process of
buying insurance, saying they have no time and are busy with work.
Despite his potential clients’ rejections, Samian managed to generate RM158,000 sales in the 2015/2016 financial year.
Razihan and Samian are among Takaful Ikhlas’ high performing agents
honoured at the insurance company Agents Awards Night 2015/2016 last
Saturday.
The Takaful Ikhlas Agents Awards Night is organised in recognition of
agents who managed to achieve the target set by the company for the
financial year 2015/2016.
The company’s contribution for the 2015/2016 financial year increased
to RM909 million, from RM829 million in the previous financial year.
