Gojek Tie-up With PasarPolis

Image result for PasarPolisGojek has launched an online insurance offering called GoSure, in partnership with Indonesian insurtech company PasarPolis. GoSure aims to provide smartphone users in Indonesia with access to insurance products provided by PasarPolis. These insurance products on GoSure will cover a variety of needs related to travel, motor vehicles and mobile device protection.

The partnership also looks to increase the awareness and usage of insurance solutions in Indonesia, leading to more comprehensive protection for consumers. Since the introduction of GoSure’s beta version to a select group of users in October 2019, Gojek said thousands of policies have been sold through the service, demonstrating significant consumer demand in this space. GoSure is also the latest product to launch on Gojek’s third party platform, which provides users with access to an array of services from providers including digital donations, eCommerce, news, health and gaming.

Gojek’s long-term growth strategies from the beginning has been to build partnerships and services that will deliver greater value to consumers. Through the launch of GoSure and partnership with PasarPolis, Gojek aims to provide consumers with better protection and greater peace of mind when they go about their daily lives.

The positive response and exponential transaction growth during GoSure’s beta phase affirm our belief that easy access to a variety of insurance products is what consumers want, and we will continue to work closely with PasarPolis to develop more products that best meet their needs.

Meanwhile, Cleosent Randing, PasarPolis CEO, said the company sees Gojek as a key partner in its mission to widen access to insurance for Indonesians. “With GoSure, we want to change the current mindset that insurance products are expensive and come with a complicated application and claim process. Gojek’s extensive digital footprint and technological prowess will further strengthen PasarPolis to introduce our products through GoSure and deliver greater benefits to more consumers,” he added.

The launch of its insurance product comes shortly after Gojek was allegedly shutting down several of its GoLife services. Most of Gojek’s GoLife services faced “stagnant business performance” and was first launched four years ago. GoLife services in Indonesia include GoMassage, GoClean, GoAuto, GoGlam, GoDaily, GoLaundry and GoFix. According to GoLife’s head Wesly Simatupang, GoLaundry and GoDaily will be shut down by 31 December, while GoFix, GoGlam and Service Marketplace ops will be discontinued by mid-January. The ride-hailing company aims to open up opportunities for impacted partners to join its other services such as GoRide, GoSend, GoPay and others.
