Father Slapped Teacher

A physical education school teacher who reprimanded his student for buying fried chicken from a street vendor ended up by slapped by the boy’s father. The incident allegedly happened in April last year.

Yesterday, the father of five was hauled to court and charged with voluntarily causing hurt to the teacher.

Kamarul Ariffin Suboh, 43, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to him before Magistrate Muhammad Nazrin Ali Rahim.

The accused, who is a hardware shop assistant, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to Muhammad Fakharuddin Azahar, 27, at Padang Sepuluh, Krubong near here at 3pm, on April 26, 2018.

The charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code carries a maximum one year jail or RM2,000 fine, or both. The court allowed a RM2,000 bail in one surety and fixed March 6 for mention. Deputy public prosecutor Intan Lyiana Zainal Abidin prosecuted while the accused was not represented.
