The lorry driver who was beaten by a group of men in Ampang last weekend is terrified of his attackers after his employer told him they were like “big time gangsters” who had warned against reporting the matter to the authorities.
According to The Star Online, Nasrul Faiz Zulfahmi, 25, said, “Yes. My boss told me they are like ‘big-time’ gangsters.”
Nasrul was punched and kicked repeatedly by several men within the compound of a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa as he lay prone on the ground. The entire incident was caught on video, and went viral after it was uploaded.
One week on, Nasrul is still traumatised by the incident and only decided to lodge a report after much persuasion from the police.
He said however that the threats issued by the attackers still played in his mind, making him continuously fear for his life and that of his family members.
He said this when speaking to reporters at a protest held yesterday by a group of truck drivers at the Sungai Besi toll plaza.
Relating how the beating took place, Nasrul said he was reversing his vehicle after making a delivery at the condominium and inadvertently knocked into a parked Mercedes Benz.
