MSIG Pet Insurance

Image result for dogAfraid your furry friends will face illnesses or accidents? MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd announced today a range of insurance schemes for worried pet owners.
The Pet Insurance scheme’s benefits include reimbursement of veterinary bills, burial or cremation costs, advertising or reward expense for missing pets, and boarding fees if the owner is hospitalized.
MSIG’s scheme even offers the reimbursement of purchase price or adoption fee should the pet die of accidental injury or illness.
“Everything our customers hold dear has their heart in it — and this is particularly true when it comes to pets — but there is currently a lack of pet insurance options in Malaysia.
“This is why we created MSIG Pet Insurance, providing loving owners with the reassurance that they have the necessary financial assistance to ensure that their pets are cared for properly,” the firm’s chief operating officer Jennifer Hsu said in a statement.
The scheme is however only available for cats and dogs that age between 12 weeks to nine years, and are microchipped — a device around the size of a rice grain with unique scannable identification numbers that can be checked against a database.
Pet dogs would also need to be licensed, and not from any breed that is restricted or banned by the authorities.
“We are happy to give Malaysian pet owners an option when it comes to pet insurance and believe we are the only local company providing this service at the moment,” Hsu said.
“We hope that our pet insurance will give pet owners some of the same reassurance and peace of mind that customers of our other insurances currently enjoy.”
MSIG Malaysia is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Ltd.

  1. Thank you for sharing this and I agree with you. I hope lots of pet parent will be responsible enough to realize that they need to get a pet insurance for their pets. Since our pets are insured, when our pet dog died we never get worry about the expenses for the pet cremation houston because it's included already in the benefits of our pets insurance.
