Government Officials Exempted From Speeding Summon

Government officials caught speeding while on official matters are exempted from having to settle their traffic summonses, says Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed, provided they inform the police that they were speeding in order to get to a government-related event on time.

“Don’t tell me if we use government cars to attend government events, we still need to pay for traffic summonses?"

“Why focus on just government officials? Mostly it is non-government individuals who are always speeding. We are not asking for exemption when it involves our personal cars. But when using government cars, let’s be flexible.”
