Clean Water At A Small Price

Laneige and Global Peace Foundation provide clean water for Malaysian villagesAccess to clean, safe water is a necessity and not a privilege. But according to Laneige, for too many Malaysians, finding a safe source of water is a luxury.
In aid of underprivileged Malaysian communities struggling without clean water sources, South Korean beauty brand Laneige is collaborating again with Global Peace Foundation (GPF) to bring clean water to support more communities in need under the Laneige Waterful Sharing Campaign 2018.
The annual initiative has expanded its targeted communities to an additional six rural villages with 770 residents from 114 homes in the remote villages in Perak and Pahang that are suffering from lack of clean water sources.
“Most of us take safe water for granted but many Malaysians still live without clean water. Water is at the core of our brand and our innovation. We nourish lives with innovation in our skincare products. This meaningful partnership with Global Peace Foundation (GPF) enables us to nourish more lives in need in the rural communities with clean water sources,” said Winnie Foong, Brand GM of Laneige Malaysia.
LaneigeDr Teh Su Thye, CEO of GPF said that a lack of clean water could lead to serious illness and other water-related illnesses.
“Their daily water supply comes only from ponds and rain water collected in self dug wells, which makes the water easily contaminated and unsafe for daily usage,” Dr Teh adds.
Under the initiative 114 units of a portable Life Straw Family 2.0 water filter will be provided.
The Life Straw Family 2.0 water filter is a WHO approved Swiss-designed award-winning technological device, that uses a hollow fibre microfiltration technology. It is chemical-free and highly effective in removing 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, while its filter is maintenance-free with a built-in back-wash system to maintain the filter.
