Three female elephants were found dead at a plantation area of a village in Kluang after ingesting poison.
“The people of Kampung Sri Timur 3 noticed that the elephants were lying motionless on the ground for quite some time. They then reported the incident to the police as they suspected that the elephants were dead,” said Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Abduh Ismail.
Kluang Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) arrived at the scene at 11.30am. Johor Perhilitan director Salman Saaban confirmed that the elephants had ingested poison and the matter was being investigated.
