Police are looking for a woman who was involved in an incident where she went berserk and nearly injuring a worker under contract with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) who had clamped her car.
Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy said in the June 4 incident at Metro Perdana Barat, Kepong here, the woman apparently went to the man and asked him to release her vehicle without payment.
"The man was doing his job, basically to scout for illegally parked cars. He is a staff of a private company contracted by DBKL to perform tyre-clamping duties in the area. After he clamped a car, the woman came up to him and asked him to release the vehicle without payment. The complainant insisted on payment before doing so.
"A quarrel occurred between the two. The woman started to threaten him and assaulted him with a steering lock. The man's colleague defused the situation," he said.
Munusamy said the victim lodged a police report on June 5, after his employer advised him to do so, even though he was not injured in the incident.
"The victim also did not undergo medical treatment because he did not sustain any injuries even though he was struck on his right thigh and arm," he said.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the 1:49-minute video, the woman can be seen gesturing towards the DBKL contract workers to unlock her clamped vehicle without paying a fine.
