Parti Keadlian Rakyat (PKR) de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said he has no malice towards Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his incarceration during the latter's stint as the prime minister.
According to him, he does not want an issue of him being incarcerated to be an issue made against Najib.
“But the issue of injustice towards the people, crime committed against the people and corruption that has become a culture in this country, that he has to answer. But when it comes to my personal welfare, I have forgiven (him). I want to move on… I don’t have any malice towards Najib or anyone else,” he said at a press conference after his release today.
Anwar was granted a full pardon today by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V following decision made by the Pardons Board meeting. He had been serving a five-year jail sentence from February 2015 following his conviction for sodomy. He was originally scheduled for release on June 8.
